In April 2014 Ukraine resumed natural gas import from the European countries. The gas price averaged $375.8 per 1,000 cu m.
The volume of natural gas imported in April under the contract with RWE Supply&Trading (Germany) totaled 64.55 mn cu m for the amount of US $24.257 mn, reported the State Statistics Service.
Ukraine also imported 2.597 bn cu m of natural gas from Russia for over $697.294 mn, which brings the average gas price in April to US $268.5 per 1,000 cu m, according to the State Statistics of Ukraine. Overall, Ukraine imported 8.753 bn cu m of natural gas from Russia and Europe for the total of US $ 2.357 bn January – April 2014.
Compared with January-April 2013 Ukrainian imports increased by 2.1% (178.925 mn cu m) within four months, while the costs decreased by 34.6% (by US $1.249 bn).
