gas marketNaftogaz proposed Gazprom to renegotiate the gas transit contract
Naftogaz of Ukraine sent a letter to Russian Gazprom with proposals on revising the contract on volumes and conditions of natural gas transit through the territory of Ukraine from 2009 till 2019, informed CEO of the Ukrainian state holding Andriy Kobolev. “This week we sent a letter to Gazprom demanding to change the transit contract. The process has already started,” he said on Svoboda Slova (Freedom of Speech) show on ICTV Channel on Monday.
At the same time, the head of Naftogaz did not share all proposals of the Ukrainian side concerning revision of the contract. “One of the elements of changing the transit contract includes introduction of certain changes to the method of gas accounting, specifically where it will be accounted for and how this process will be controlled,” added Kobolev.
