casualties10 Ukrainian paratroopers killed near Shakhtarsk
Yesterday ten Ukrainian paratroopers died in a battle near Shakhtarsk in Donetsk oblast - eight bodies were pulled out of the territory of active phase of the ATO, informed the ATO press service.
“Our forces were ambushed and were forced to fight. Unfortunately, the Ukrainian paratroopers suffered casualties – ten soldiers died,” said the press service.
At the moment, the Ukrainian forces were pulled out and eight bodies were taken out of the territory of the ATO active phase; the issue on transportation of the other two victims are being resolved.
“The situation is further aggravated by the fact that the insurgents are constantly attacking the place of battle by fire. The specialists of the ATO forces also faced the problem of the victim identification, because all militants were dressed in the Ukrainian uniforms and there are no any military insignia on them,” said the press service.
As a result of battle in Shakhtarsk, the Ukrainian forces suffered heavy casualties - 10 soldiers died, 13 were wounded and 11 paratroopers went missing.
