Naftogaz of Ukraine proposes Russian Gazprom to purchase its gas at the price of natural gas on gas market minus the cost of transit until the decision of SCC Arbitration, informed the press service of the Ukrainian company.
The decision will allow to a significant extent simplify discussions over the determination of fair price for Ukraine.
In addition, gas supply agreement with Gazprom includes the conditions for price revision in accordance with changes of the market situation, emphasized Naftogaz.
The purchase at stock prices is a dominant trend in agreements between Gazprom and European companies.
The Ukrainian side announces its readiness to discuss the technical aspects of realization of this proposal in accordance with the European Practice Assessment.
This price should apply to the payment of debts for Russian gas until the SCC Arbitration approves the decision, according to Naftogaz.
As Capital reported, on August 29, Minister of Energy of Russia Alexander Novak announced that Gazprom is ready to offer Ukraine a US $100 discount on gas. Thus, the price of gas will amount to US $385.5 per 1,000 cu m.
