Kolomoisky has no relation to building in Povarskaya Street in Moscow, says director of Elite Holding

Elite Holding denies relation of the building in Povarskaya Street in Moscow with Ukrainian businessman Ihor Kolomoisky who is accused of murders, using banned war means and methods.

According to a report spread by the company, Kolomoisky never owned the building at 10, Povarskaya Street in Moscow which belongs to the joint-stock company.

«I declare that this person has never owned the above-mentioned building and did not have and does not have any relation to it,» reads the report, referring to Elite Holding Director General Igor Dyabdenkov.

An Interfax correspondent has reported that the office building in Povarskaya Street continues working. The employees guarding the offices said that no searches were conducted in the building and representatives of the Russian Investigative Committee did not visit it.

As reported, upon the request of investigators court has placed under arrest property of Ukrainian businessman Ihor Kolomoisky accused in Russia under a case on the use of banned war means and methods.

Russian Investigative Committee spokesman Vladimir Markin told Interfax on Tuesday that in particular, an office building in Moscow has been arrested. The building belongs to Elite Holding and Kolomoisky is its co-founder.

«Based on the court rulings received, search was held in the named building and during it documents significant for the criminal case were found and seized. Besides, upon the court ruling on the request of investigators this estate was placed under arrest banning Elite Holding carrying out any regulatory power over it,» Markin said.

The arrest is introduced «in order to terminate financing of terrorist activities and other criminal actions regarding peaceful population of southeastern Ukraine,» he said.

«The Investigative Committee continues the work to determine other assets of Ihor Kolomoisky, including in Crimea,» Markin said.

Moscow’s Basmanny Court sanctioned earlier to arrest in absentia Kolomoisky, who is on the international wanted list. The Ukrainian businessman is accused in staging a number of crimes — murders, using banned war means and methods, impeding professional duties of reporters and kidnapping (the Russian Criminal Code Article 33 Part 3, Article 105 Part 2, Article 33 Part 3, Article 356 Part 1, Article 144 Part 3, and Article 126 Part 3).
