DTEK Krymenergo (controlled by businessman Rinat Akhmetov) threatens to stop energy supply to Crimea Titan, controlled by businessman Dmytro Firtash, for debts, reads the message on the DTEK website.
“On June 1, 2014, the agreement between DTEK Krymenergo and Crimea TITAN was renewed, which envisaged the system of the advance payments. However, in June 2014, the consumer accumulated RUB 32.68 mn (US $860,000) debt, according to the message.
The company specified that it has sent the notification to TITAN where it proposes to repay the debt. “In case of difficulties the following actions will be taken: energy consumption will be reduced to the level of the technological power supply starting from September 11, 2014, and to the level of the emergency power supply starting from September 17, 2104,” reads the message.
If TITAN does not repay the debt by September 25, it could be completely cut off electricity supply.
