Since the end of August over 50,000 people returned to Donetsk, said mayor of the city Oleksandr Lukyanchenko.
“The fact is that it’s already cold at the coast, where people were at the temporary recreation facilities all this time. In addition, the financial resources do not allow the people to live far away from their homes for a long time,” explained the mayor on Ukraine TV Channel.
The number of returning people was counted based on the increase of the requests for baking, according to Lukyanchenko.
As Capital reported, as of August 26, over 17,000 of forced immigrants from Donbas have returned to their permanent places of residence, including 14,480 people - to Donetsk oblast, 2,043 – to Luhansk oblast.
