A Russian court on Monday ruled to leave the mansion in central Moscow, which is owned by Ukrainian tycoon Ihor Kolomoyskyi’s company, under arrest.
Moscow’s Basmanny court earlier ordered that the office building owned by Kolomoyskyi’s Elite Holding company in the central part of the city be impounded.
The investigators said Kolomoyskyi owned 25% of shares in the office complex and used the rental income to finance his pro-Kiev Dnieper battalion that fought militias in the east of Ukraine.
The investigation conducted in Russia revealed that Kolomoyskyi, who is the governor of the Dnipropetrovsk region in Ukraine, had been personally involved in the financing of the Dnieper, Azov and other battalions during Kiev’s security operation and in the eastern Donetsk and Luhansk regions.
The authorities are also taking inventory and seizing documents of Kolomoyskyi’s Foros recreational center in Crimea. On September 4, Crimea’s parliament made the decision to nationalize Kolomoyskyi’s property on the peninsula.
