Oil and gasRussia elaborates the law prohibiting re-export of Russian gas to Ukraine
To date, the State Duma of Russia is drafting the bill on the ban of re-export of Russian gas to Ukraine, which will be introduced for consideration by the lower chamber of parliament by the end of the current session, said the author of the bill, first Deputy Chairman of the State Duma Committee on Industry Vladimir Gutenev.
He also sent a letter to all deputies of the State Duma, in which he appealed to his colleagues to make the proposals of the legislative initiative, which is being prepared.
«I consider expedient to legislatively set the requirement on inclusion of the conditions prohibiting re-export of supplied gas to foreign countries to foreign trade contracts, if the foreign partner (consumer of export products) does not keep contractual terms of payment of the minimum annual volume of gas in accordance with the principle „take and pay“, and also to the countries which have the financial debt to Russia,» said the deputy.
