Ukraine has asked the West to allocate additional €2 bn (US $2.55 bn) and the leadership of EU and International Monetary Fund consider this request, said EU Commission spokesman Simon O’Connor.
“The commission is still fulfilling its obligations on supporting Ukraine as it was earlier,” he said.
As a reminder, on Tuesday, Minister of Energy and Coal Industry Yuriy Prodan and his Russian colleague Alexander Novak and European Commissioner for Energy Günther Oettinger held another round of talks on the dispute between Kyiv and Moscow over the amount of the Ukrainian debt for Russian gas.
