The intermediate price of Russian gas can be reduced from previously agreed US $385 per 1,000 cu m to US $378 in Q4, 2014 and to US $365 in Q1, 2015 in connection with the reduction of price of oil on the world market, announced Premier Arseniy Yatsenyuk at the session of the government.
The premier noted that the European Union will guarantee the impossibility of unilateral increase of price of Russian gas for Ukraine in the framework of the winter package.
“If Russia violates the procedure of price formation and tries again to establish the price at US $500 per 1,000 cu m, as it proposed from the beginning, then we agreed with the EU that EU will be a guarantor of Russia’s obligations on a fair price, in particular, through the mechanism of compensation of price increase if the price corresponds to the trilateral protocol,” Yatsenyuk said.
