Foreign exchange marketBanker – Importers cannot purchase currency, despite the cancellation of restrictions of NBU
The Ukrainian businessmen will not be able to purchase currency in the nearest future despite that the NBU restrictions have been lifted, announced Deputy Board Chairperson of Credit Agricole Yevhenia Chemeris, as ForUm reported.
“I want to focus on the consequences of those amendments which were introduced by NBU to the decree No. 540, specifically on the softening of the restrictions, which were earlier introduced. One of them now allows purchase of currency for import without the actual import goods and services on the territory of Ukraine. We need to clearly understand that there are many opportunities for violations in this sector. But there are the legitimate transactions which, unfortunately, suffered during these two months,” specified Chemeris.
She also welcomed the cancellation of restrictions which blocked the work of business.
