energyState Energy Agency – It is necessary to attract UAH 300 bn for the development of alternative energy
State Agency on Energy Efficiency and Energy Saving of Ukraine announced the necessity to attract UAH 300 bn (US $22.99 bn) for the development of alternative energy until 2020, said Chairman of the agency Serhiy Savchuk at the opening of the International Investment Forum.
“11% of alternative sources of energy in the total balance of the energy resources should be produced and consumed in 2020. Today we have only 2.8%. We need to make a big leap, and, according to our preliminary estimations, the investments in the amount of UAH 300 bn will be necessary for this,” he said.
At that, Savchuk noted that he hopes to attract both foreign and domestic investments.
As Capital reported, the Cabinet appealed for the fulfillment of the obligations to EU on the development of the renewable energy.
