On November 4, the National Security and Defence Council held a meeting, where the situation with gas supply to the territories controlled by the self-proclaimed Donetsk and Luhansk People’s Republic was considered, reported LigaBusinessInform.
The NSDC could make a decision on full or partial cessation of gas supplies, but the decision was not been approved, according to Head of Naftogaz of Ukraine Andriy Kobolev.
Gas supplies to these regions cause billions of losses for Naftogaz. According to the company, 27 mn cu m were supplied to the ATO zone in September and around 100 mn cu m in October.
The previous month the company fell short of UAH 700 mn (US $51.51 bn). Up to 1 bn cu m of natural gas can be unlimitedly consumed until the end of the year that will cost Naftogaz and the country UAH 6-7 bn (US $440-520 mn), said first Deputy Head of Natogaz Serhiy Pereloma.
As Capital reported, Kyiv has no strategy regarding the Donbas.
