Acting chief of Ukrzaliznytsia State Railway Administration's general office was detained in November 7 when taking bribe in amount of UAH 100,000 and now is suspected into an attempt to bribe.
"A joint work of Prosecutor General's Office, Security Service and Interior Ministry of Ukraine made it possible to disclose that acting chief of Ukrzaliznytsia general office blackmailed a bribe for the inclusion of the production of one of the enterprises into the procurement plan for 2015. This official on November 7 was detained for accepting a bribe in amount of UAH 100,000, he was officially informed on suspicion into signs of a criminal offense described in the Ukrainian Criminal Code, Article 368 Part 3 (accepting a proposal to take a bribe, promise to take a bribe or direct bribing by the official)," a PGO press service reported on Tuesday.
The judge chose taking into custody as a measure of restraint with a maximum sum of the deposit foreseen by the law for this type of the offense.
The aforementioned official may face an imprisonment for a term up to 10 years with confiscation of property.
