The CIS Executive Committee has promised that it will coordinate all actions in relation to the self-proclaimed Donetsk and Luhansk People’s Republics with the Ukrainian authorities, announced Chairman of the CIS Executive Committee Sergey Lebedev.
“We consider the elections held in the south-east of Ukraine as an accomplished fact but we cannot make our evaluation. Ukraine remains a part of the CIS. We will be guided by the position of the Ukrainian authorities,” he told journalists.
Lebedev noted that the elections in DPR and LPR are the sovereign right of every nation “to decide their own destiny expressing their free will”.
As Capital reported, on November 2, DPR and LPR held the elections of their leaders and parliaments.
