On November 6 – 12 purchase prices of sunflower seeds on the domestic market of Ukraine increased by 6% and fluctuated within the range of UAH 5,000 – 5,300 (US $306 – 325) per one ton for farmers on EXW ex-elevator terms.
Prices on CPT-plant terms for farmers varied between UAH 5,300 – 5,600/t, according to the press-service of the Derzhzovnishprom SE referring to Yevhen Tomashevskiy, expert at the Department of Agriculture.
“Devaluation of hryvnia has once again surprised Ukrainian market of sunflower seeds. The price is still growing. At the same time, as before the number of offerings on the market remains limited, while the manufacturers’ demand is high. The latter, in turn, are ready to buy raw materials even at current high prices. Another factor contributing to the growth of prices was the increase of quotations for sunflower oil,” said Tomashevskiy.
