On December 1, the Cabinet of Ministers published an instruction on the approval of tender conditions for obtaining license for the third generation communication (UMTS, 3G). It was issued on November 5.
Earlier the National Commission for the State Regulation of Communications and Informatization prepared tender conditions for the approval by the government.
Overall, three 30 MHz lots within the range of 1920—1935/2110—2125, 1950—1965/2140—2155, 1965—1980/2155—2170 MHz will be put up for tender, according to the instruction. The starting price of the license increased from UAH 2.443 bn (US $15 mn) to UAH 2.7 bn (US $17 mn), one of the NCRCI’s members told Capital. “The high authorities reached an agreement,” he said.
As a reminder, this fall the Cabinet has repeatedly sent the draft for revision in NCRCI, due to which the tender will not be held until the end of 2014.
