SupportEC disbursed EUR 500 mn to Ukraine
The European Commission, on behalf of the EU, today disbursed EUR 500 million to Ukraine. This is the second and final loan tranche of the EU’s €1 billion Macro-Financial Assistance (MFA II) programme for Ukraine approved earlier this year, according to the press release of the EC. This disbursement adds to the EUR 860 million provided so far under the two ongoing MFA programmes for Ukraine. The current EU MFA loan to Ukraine amounts to EUR 1.61 billion.
The EC noted that the specified financial support is aimed at carrying out structural reforms directed at ensuring sustainable economic growth in the country and overcoming the financial crisis.
As Capital reported, on November 12, the EC disbursed EUR 260 mn loan to Ukraine, which is a part of macro-financial assistance.
