A mission from the International Monetary Fund (IMF) will discuss the IMF-supported economic reforms in Ukraine during its visit to Kyiv on December 9-18, the IMF has reported.

"Following initial technical discussions completed during November 11-25, the mission will begin policy discussions with the Ukrainian authorities in the context of the Fund-supported economic reform program," IMF Resident Representative in Ukraine Jerome Vacher said in a statement.

As reported, after the formation of the new Ukrainian government last week, Ukrainian Prime Minister Arseniy Yatseniuk instructed Finance Minister Natalie Jaresko to invite the IMF mission to the country to resume negotiations on the allocation of the next tranche to Ukraine.

"The law of Ukraine on the state budget will be tough and difficult, because our task in 2015 is to survive and form the basis for development and economic stability in 2016. I am asking Ukrainian Finance Minister Natalie [Jaresko] to invite a mission of the International Monetary Fund, because we formed a government and our foreign partners are ready for talks," he said, while opening a government meeting on Wednesday.
