“All non-resident banks, operating today in Ukraine, are thinking about leaving the country, but they do not know how. They don’t know yet that nobody will let them go – Ukrainian or foreign regulator. NBU will not let them go as they are most likely the only source of external capital for Ukraine”, announced Head of the Supervisory Board of the National Credit Bank Andriy Onistrat.
In addition, Onistrat emphasized that it is not yet known whether the parent structures of banks are ready to recapitalize their institutions in Ukraine.
