Ukraine may receive EUR 2 bn in financial aid from the European Union, the USA and the International Monetary Fund until the end of the year, said President of the European Council Donald Tusk in an interview for Polskie Radio, as reported by Evropeyska Pravda.
“The situation in Ukraine requires immediate response, but not next year as it may be too late. We have already prepared for it. Although the figure is not as much as Ukraine now needs, it is, nonetheless, a substantial amount of money,” he said.
As Capital reported, the IMF mission will return to Kyiv in January 2015 to continue the political discussions. The next tranche of loan will not be allocated to Ukraine until that time.
