President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko and President of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev agreed that Ukraine will buy coal from Kazakhstan, as Nazarbayev said after a meeting with Poroshenko.
“We have agreed on coal supplies from Ekibastuz coal field,” he announced.
The sides can achieve great results in cooperation in energy sector, according to Nazarbayev.
As a reminder, Minister of Energy and Coal Industry Volodymyr Demchyshyn estimates coal shortage in Ukraine at around 1.6 mn tons, as of December 20.
President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko and Prime Minister of Australia Tony Abbott also agreed to discuss the issue on supplies of Australian coal to Ukraine at a meeting on December 11.
