Naftogaz of Ukraine transferred US $1.65 bn to Russian Gazprom in payment for supplied and earlier not paid for volumes of gas, reported the press service of the national company.
The company reminded that the first payment of US $1.45 bn was transferred on November 4.
“Thus, in accordance with the agreements reached in Brussels, Naftogaz paid US $3.1 bn in two tranches for 11.5 bn cu m of gas, supplied by Gazprom in November-December 2013 and in April-June 2014,” according to Naftogaz.
As reported, Ukraine, Russia and the European Commission after five month of negotiations signed a binding protocol under the conditions of the resumption of Russian gas supplies to Ukraine until the end of March 2015.
