The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) is about to lend Ukraine $1.08 million for the creation of a project office of reforms in Ukraine, Executive Director of the National Council of Reforms and deputy presidential chief of staff Dmitry Shymkiv said.
"We have preliminarily discussed this [with the EBRD] – [it is] $1.08 million," he said at a briefing after the first meeting of the National Council of Reforms in Kyiv on Wednesday.
The Council has decided to set up a project office to develop and introduce reforms. The managers of the office will coordinate projects, hire and involve experts and support communication in the development and implementation of reforms.
The creation of the office is financially supported by the EBRD.
A project office director will be elected by January 25, 2015, after which project managers will be hired, Shymkiv said.
