State-run Ukroboronprom plans to establish a joint venture (JV) with a large Polish-based multipurpose camouflage producer Lubawa SA to manufacture ammunition and equipment for military personnel.

The intention of cooperation is agreed in a contract signed by Deputy Chairman of Ukroboronprom's board Serhiy Pinkas, and President of the Lubawa SA Management Board Marcin Kubica in Kyiv, Ukroboronprom's press service reported on Thursday.

Details of the partnership and a list of the JV's future products will be developed in the near future, with the launch of production scheduled for 2015.

Cooperation with one of the largest European manufacturers of military ammunition is considered one of the key tasks in transforming Ukraine's military-industrial complex to new production standards, and the development of partnerships with EU and NATO member states.

"The European military market has become even closer to us," the press service quoted Pinkas as saying.

Kubica in turn said that the Polish company considers future cooperation with Ukraine in the defense sector as strategic.

Lubawa SA has been working in the military ammunition market for over 60 years. It supplies multipurpose camouflage to NATO member states. The company exports produce to over 40 countries.
