Ukrainian automobile manufacturers made 28,751 vehicles in 2014, 43% down on 2013, the Ukrautoprom association reported on Wednesday.
According to the report, the largest decline in 2014 was seen in the bus segment with only 906 buses being made, 63.5% down on a year ago. The share of buses made by Cherkasy Bus was 38% (347 buses).
Passenger car production in 2014 was down by 43.3%, to 25,941 cars, with 49% of cars or 12,779 made at Zaporizhia Automobile Plant.
Commercial vehicle output fell by 15.2%, to 1,904 vehicles. The absolute leader in this segment was public joint-stock company AvtoKrAZ with 1,388 trucks made and a production share of 73% of total commercial vehicles made.
In December 2014 only 504 vehicles were manufactured at Ukrainian plants, 15.6% down on November and 12.7 times down on December 2013.
Passenger car production in December was 257 cars, 5% down on November 2014 and 22 times down on December 2013.
Commercial vehicle manufacturing grew from 153 to 186, compared to the previous month, however it was still 52.1% down on December 2013.
Bus production in December dropped by 11.6% compared to November 2014, and six times compared to December 2013.
