Donetsk confectionery factory AVK will suspend its operations due to an inability to provide safe working conditions for its employees and the activities of the enterprise, the press service of the company has said.
«Since Donetsk confectionery factory AVK was within the range of active hostilities, this created a threat to the lives of employees who were not able to leave the ATO area for family reasons. It also became impossible to purchase and supply raw materials, produce and sell finished produce,» reads the press release.
In July 2014 operations at the AVK confectionery factory in Luhansk were stopped for similar reasons.
The largest production site of the company — Dnipropetrovsk confectionery factory — continues to operate.
AVK’s press service noted that the company had helped hundreds of families of its employees who worked at the factories in Luhansk and Donetsk, offering them work in Kyiv and Dnipropetrovsk, and paid for their travel and accommodation.
«As soon as the situation allows AVK to provide proper and safe working conditions at the enterprises in Donetsk and Luhansk, the factories will resume work,» reads the report.
