29759

Kyiv’s Pechersky district court has ruled that the chief of Ukraine’s State Fiscal Service Ihor Bilous, and some local media outlets, should issue an official contradiction on statements made by Bilous about former Income and Tax Minister Oleksandr Klymenko.

The court ruled in favor on Monday in defense of Klymenko’s honor, dignity and business reputation, and refuted false information published in three interviews in May, July and September 2014.

As stated in the court’s decision, the points at issue are, in particular, phrases saying «during years [Klymenko] had been destroying the customs agency as such» and «... corruption, which he has defeated in his own way.»

The financial part of the claim states that Bilous, the State Fiscal Service and three media outlets should each pay legal fees worth UAH 48.72 in the claimant’s favor.

Serhiy Vovk was the judge in the case. The Pechersky court’s ruling can be appealed within 10 days.
