The share of non-performing loans in the aggregate loans allocated by the banks has increased from 9.9% to 10.1% in May, according to the National Bank of Ukraine. The total volume of loans allocated as of June 1 amounted to UAH 1.018 trillion (as of May 1 – UAH 1.021 trillion, as of January 1 – UAH 911.402 bn).
As of June 1, the regulatory capital of the banks amounted to UAH 184.640 bn (as of May 1 – UAH 186.206 bn, as of January 1 – UAH 204.976 bn). The losses of banks in January-May amounted to UAH 10.373 bn (in January-April 2014 the losses amounted to UAH 4.452, while in 2013 the banks registered UAH 1.436 bn in profits).
As a reminder, the share of non-performing loans has been steadily on the rise in 2014: in April it increased from 9.3% to 9.9%, in March – from 8.4% to 9.3%, in February – from 7.8% to 8.4%, in January – from 7.7% to 7.8%. The share of non-performing loans declined last in December 2013 – from 8.33% to 7.7%.
Overall, the share of non-performing loans in the aggregate of the loans provided by the banks dropped from 8.89% to 7.7%.
