The National Bank of Ukraine has imposed restrictions on banking operations, reads Resolution No. 626 posted on the NBU website on October 3, 2014.

The decree introduces amendments to Resolution No.540 approved by the NBU on August 29, 2014 and prohibits the sale of foreign currency in the amount of more than UAH 3,000 (US $230) per person in a commercial bank.

The banks also obligated to limit the issue (or receiving) of foreign currency cash from current and deposit accounts of customers through the cash desk and automatic teller machines within the range of UAH 15,000 (US $1,150) for 24 hours according to the official hryvnia exchange rate approved by the NBU.
