President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko vetoed the law on the legal status of forced immigrants from Crimea, Sevastopol and zone of anti-terrorist operation in Eastern Ukraine.
Poroshenko wrote on the website of the Verkhovna Rada that he could not sign the law as contradits the Constitution of Ukraine, does not envisage government financial support for “forced immigrants”, and does not provide cooperative and responsible work of the public authorities and local government.
“The law consists of blank standards, which provide legal regulation of the main issues based on the other laws and the Cabinet of Ministers decisions,” Poroshenko argued, saying the law was more of declarative nature.
As Capital reported, the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine passed the law on June 19.
