Head of Naftogaz of Ukraine Andriy Kobolev expects that hearings in the Stockholm Chamber of Commerce Arbitration on the dispute with Gazprom over conditions of the gas supply contract concluded in 2009 will begin in the coming weeks.
“Now the procedures of determination of arbiters and settlement of other formalities are held. We hope that all these procedures will be completed in a few weeks and the hearings will begin,” he said at a briefing.
The head of Naftogaz assured that the company is doing its best to speed up the process, but Russian Gazprom has “deadlines specified by the law for its actions and these deadlines cannot be moved”.
As Capital reported, in the middle of June Naftogaz submitted a claim to the Arbitration Institute of the Stockholm Chamber of Commerce against Gazprom concerning gas prices in particular and conditions of the contract on gas supplies to Ukraine, which was concluded in 2009.
