Engineers of DTEK Luhansk Thermal Power Plant and national company UkrEnergo managed to perform complex switching in the energy system to avoid disconnection of all consumers of electric energy in Luhansk and Donetsk oblasts, reported DTEK press service.
“For the moment, the engineers managed to stabilize the situation, but reconstruction of the lines that were damaged by shells is required. This will be possible only after combat actions in Donbas stop,” informed the press service.
At the same time the press service pointed that DTEK Luhansk Thermal Power Plant, which is over 50 years old, is currently operating at the limit of its capacities. On July 7, a bridge used to deliver coal for production of electricity was blown up near the power plant. To date, the coal reserves of the plant will last for only 20 days provided that the station carries on with the full load and operates all three energy blocks.”
