Poroshenko announced his readiness to meet with Putin

President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko announced his readiness to conduct negotiations with President of Russia Vladimir Putin, according to the conversation between Poroshenko and Chancellor of Germany Angela Merkel, reported the press service of the Ukrainian president.

Yesterday, Poroshenko conducted consultations with Merkel, according to the press service. He highly appreciated assistance of the German government in establishment of the international dialogue, in particular, holding the four-sided meeting of the Ministers of Foreign Affairs of Germany, Ukraine, France and Russia on August 17.

«The sides agreed that holding a summit should be the next step to finding solutions,» said the press service.
Poroshenko and Merkel also discussed the possibility of continuing the negotiations for finding solutions to the situation in Donbas with the involvement of the European Union.

As Capital reported with reference to Minister of Foreign Affairs of Germany Frank-Walter Steinmeier, the negotiations of the foreign ministers of Ukraine, Germany, France and Russia on the Ukrainian crisis, which were held in Berlin on August 17, were complex, however, the heads have achieved progress on some issues.
