Over 900 schools in Donbas did not welcome students today due to the combat actions, informed spokesman of the NSCD information-analytical center Andriy Lysenko.
He specified that because of this around 10,000 Ukrainian students failed to start their school year. At that, in the liberated cities the schools opened their doors today.
”In addition, the servicemen of the State Special Transport Service of Ukraine presented renewed schools to the children of Sloviansk for the Knowledge Day. Within three weeks the soldiers of the first Combined Forces Special Enforcement Unit located in Lviv oblast repaired three schools and one kindergarten destroyed by the insurgents,” noted Lysenko.
Moreover, the soldiers made patriotic boards with the national symbols, poems and sayings of the Ukrainian writers for the students.
As Capital reported, earlier the Cabinet of Ministers gave universities and schools the opportunity to determine the date of the beginning of the school year together with the local authorities.
