EnergyZmiyiv TPS suspends operation due to coal shortage
Energy company Centrenergo (Kyiv oblast) has suspended operation of Zmiyiv thermal power station (Kharkiv oblast) until October 1 due to the situation with coal reserves at TPS, reported Centrenergo.
“The energy production will be suspended from September 11 to October 1, 2014, in connection with the problems of coal supply and shortage of coal reserves at TPS,” according to the company.
Over this period the stock fuel reserves for stable operation of TPS in autumn and winter 2014-2015 will be accumulated.
To date, the company is searching for new ways of diversification of the energy suppliers from the Republic of South Africa, Brazil, Chili and other countries.
The suspension of TPS is temporary and the company will not dismiss staff.
