Transit of Russian gas through Uzhgorod corridor from Slovakia to Ukraine decreased by 25%, announced Minister of Energy and Coal Industry of Ukraine Yuriy Prodan.

“At the moment, there is gas transit but it has been reduced by 25%,” said Prodan.

The stability of the heating season in Ukraine will depend on the temperature regimes, gas reverse supplies from Europe and effectiveness of measures of gas saving, informed the minister.

CEO of Naftogaz of Ukraine Andriy Kobolev earlier noted that natural gas supplies from Slovakia to Ukraine can be reduced if Gazprom imposes significant restrictions on gas supply to Europe through all existing routes of Nord Stream, through Belarus and Ukraine.

In particular, as of September 15, gas supplies amounted to 49.6 mn cu m and 48.8 mn cu m, as of September 16.

However, the reduction of gas transit from Russia through Slovakia has not affected the gas reverse flows to Ukraine which still amounts to 26 mn cu m per day.
