The Deposit Guarantee Fund for private individuals cannot provide over 50% of the deposit capital as these deposits exceed UAH 200,000 (US $13,470), informed managing director of the fund Vasyl Pasichnyk at a round table.
“The guaranteed amount of UAH 200,000 covers the absolute number of depositors – 99.3% of all deposits. At the same time, the remaining depositors account for over a half of the amount of deposits. This is a difficult problem as those people are the donors of the bank system and do not have any effective instruments to promote their interests.
As a reminder, to date, the Deposit Guarantee Fund for private individuals has UAH 6.5 bn (US $440 mn) for the bank deposit insurance.
