Import of goods from Ukraine to the European Union increased by 9% in the second quarter 2014 compared with the second quarter 2013, reported Eurostat.
Overall, import of goods from Ukraine to EU amounted to EUR 3.696 bn in Q2 2014, while in Q2 2013 import of goods totaled EUR 3.388 bn.
At that, in April 2014, import increased by 0.7% compared with April 2013, in May – by 11.3%, in June – by 17.3%.
In Q2 2014 the fastest growing indicators were registered in import of primary energy goods, up 22.9% compared with Q2 2013, other producer goods - 14.7%, chemical products – by 13.9%.
At that, the average price of 100 kg of the Ukrainian goods imported to EU decreased from EUR 27.6 in Q2, 2013 to EUR 23.56 in Q2, 2014.
As a reminder, Europe introduced autonomous trade preferences for Ukraine starting from April 22, which envisage cancellation of import duties on the Ukrainian goods.
