DTEK energy holding (Donetsk) estimates the monthly demand for imported coal for the anthracite power units of the Ukrainian thermal power stations at 1.2 mn t, reported the press service of the company.
“To date, we need to import around 1.2 mn t of coal per month to ensure uninterrupted operation of the anthracite power units of the Ukrainian TPS during autumn and winter heating season,” said the company.
DTEK noted that the main part of imported coal will be supplied to the TPS of the holding as the DTEK thermal power stations account for 87% of output of all Ukrainian TPS.
The company emphasized that if the ceasefire continues and railways, bridges and roads are quickly repaired, the coal demand will be reduced.
