Ukraine from October 1 stopped electricity exports to Belarus, Ukraine's Minister of Energy and Coal Industry Yuriy Prodan has said at a press conference in Kyiv.
According to him, this is due to power shortages for the domestic needs of the country.
The minister also said that at present it is impossible to completely halt electricity exports to Moldova because this will cause problems with power supply in Odesa region, as the line, through which power is exported to Moldova, passes through Odesa region.
Prodan also clarified that the two blocks of Burshtyn Energy Island, from which electricity is exported to Europe, are generating electricity for domestic consumption in Ukraine.
According to him, for the complete work of Burshtyn Energy Island agreement with European operators is needed, which will take several months, and now it is impractical.
