The fuel in Ukraine can become more expensive or the country even experience shortage of fuel despite the reduction of the world’s prices of oil, reported Finance.UA with reference to President of the Association of Oil Market Operators of Ukraine Leonid Kosyanchuk.
“To date, there is no the shortage of fuel. But the threat of the shortage exists due to the lack of the hard currency in the country. There is a danger of the disruption of the contracts on oil supply to Ukraine. If Ukraine does not pay under the contracts, the fuel will be redirected to other destinations. And it is difficult to find 4000,000 t on the spot market,” he said at a press conference.
The situation is a result of short-sighted policy of the National Bank of Ukraine, said director of the A-95 Consulting Group Serhiy Kuyun.
