The real unemployment rate in Ukraine is much higher than officially announced, said Chairman of the VR Committee for Social Policy and Labor MP Andriy Pavlovskiy (Batkivshchyna), as ForUm reported. According to the information of the State Statistics Service, the unemployment rate in Ukraine reached 1.6% in September.
The indicator will be much higher if the international rules of the calculations were applied, according to the MP.
“According to the rules of the International Labor Organization, those who were sent on unpaid leave or who work part-time day or part-time week are unemployed. If you count these people all around Ukraine, then the unemployment rate will reach not less than 15% of the employed population,” noted Pavlovskiy.
