The agreement on selling the Roshen Confectionery Corporation will be approved in the nearest future, President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko said in an interview for German Bild.
“We are negotiating the sale with one of the largest investment banks. I am sure that we will sign the contracts in the nearest future,” said the head of the state answering the question of the company’s possible sale.
As a reminder, Roshen Confectionery Corporation is the leader of the Ukrainian market and one of the largest global manufacturers of confectionery. Four Ukrainian factories (Kyiv, Vinnytsya, Mariupol and Kremenchuk), two production facilities in Lipetsk, Klaipeda Confectionery Factory in Lithuania, Hungarian enterprise Bonbonetti Choco Kft and butter-milk plant Bershadmoloko are the parts of Roshen Confectionery Corporation.
Roshen produces around 200 types of confectionery and the total output volume amounts to 450,000 tons per year.
Poroshenko earlier promised to sell the company if he is elected president.
