decisionsCabinet proposed to Rada to increase the national debt by UAH 161 bn
The Cabinet of Ministers proposed to the Verkhovna Rada to introduce amendments to the Article 5 of the law on the national budget and increase the maximum amount of the national debt by UAH 161.4 bn (US $10.22 bn) to UAH 968.35 bn (US $61.29 bn) by the end of 2014 for the purpose of leveling of foreign exchange influences, according to the resolution No. 1125 of December 1, 2014 published on the government’s website.
In addition, according to the information, the draft amendments to the national budget for 2014 also envisage an increase in expenditures on the national debt repayment using national loans in connection with devaluation of the national currency.
As a reminder, as of October 31, 2014 the national debt and debt of Ukraine guaranteed by state amounted to US $72.994 bn.
At that, the national loans in the general fund of the national budget in foreign currency amounted to US $8.940 bn in January-November 2014.
