Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko has signed a decree dismissing Roman Vanzuriak as head of Chernivtsi Regional State Administration.
The decree was posted on the Web site of the head of state on Wednesday.
Under another decree, Valeriy Baranov was dismissed as head of Zaporizhia Regional State Administration.
Vanzuryak tendered his resignation on October 23. He explained his decision by saying that the new Verkhovna Rada and the president should appoint a new team, including the heads of regional state administrations. He was appointed governor of Chernivtsi region in March 2014.
Baranov, who was appointed governor of Zaporizhia region in early March this year, handed in his resignation on October 27. Before submitting a statement of resignation, he said on a local television channel on October 26 that if he lost the parliamentary elections, he would resign. Baranov, who was running for MP at single-member electoral district No. 74, lost 4% to his opponent Petro Sabashuk, a candidate from the Bloc of Petro Poroshenko.
